thankful

it has been TOO long since the kelley family has been active in the blogosphere.  we have SO much to update.  we still need to update the amazing summer we had with visitors & impromptu trips to national parks.  since that time, we have had a couple of birthdays & the boy's 1st "real" halloween.

but today i decided not to be bogged down in "catch up" but to just share that for which i am thankful.  i am OF COURSE thankful for our health, our family & our friends.  but today i was overwhelmed with gratitude for the decision that pat & i made less than 2 years ago.  the decision to leave memphis & to leave academic medicine - at the time it was not a popular decision or a financially sound one.  but there is no doubt in my mind that it was the right one.

so today, i am especially thankful for my husband, my son, snowcapped mountains, blue skies (albeit rare) & "no work days"!

above you have a glimpse into our wonderful excursion to the mount baker ski area just 80 minutes from our house.  i opted to hide behind the camera because i not only forgot my winter jacket & snowpants, but was exceptionally queasy from the switchbacks - but despite these obstacles - still incredibly thankful!
