over the thanksgiving weekend, we declared a new family holiday tradition - COOKIE NIGHT! what is COOKIE NIGHT? well, i am glad you asked - cookie night occurs every Sunday. the plan was that i (& occasionally pat when a recipe or craving inspired him) & our handy sous chef would spend the afternoon baking up a batch of cookies. we would celebrate our accomplishments with popcorn & a christmas special & of course, COOKIES.
this evening was our third official cookie night.
so far we have created such yummy treats as classic peanut butter blossoms, pistachio-cream cheese sugar cookies & maple cookies.this evenings treats... melt-in-your-mouth pumpkin cookies.
i wish i could say this new tradition has caused our home to swell with holiday cheer. but unfortunately the boy is really struggling. i am not sure if it is the intoxicating aroma of butter & sugar in the air OR the uncertainty of what "movie" we will watch (our little one is not a huge fan of TV - to our joy, but in this case a little to my dismay - i want him to love the holiday specials that i did/do). but let's just sum it up by saying there has been ALOT of drama on COOKIE NIGHT!
but despite the frequent tears & frustration - the cookies are yummy!

So fun! But, I don't think it is fair to entice your readers with delicious cookies without also sharing the recipes!
