happy new year!

we had a very mellow new year's eve this year. sort of a requirement when you have an 8 week old - isn't it? after the incredibly enjoyable but mildly hectic visit from mo's family it was nice to enjoy the evening just the five of us. we watched "juno" (a movie that mo adored this year) while ewan snuggled in the moby. we watched the fireworks over the space needle on tv even though we could have stepped out in the yard to see them - but in all honesty it was cold, we were weary & murph HATES fireworks.


as pat was doing his nightly bedtime stroll through the house with ewan, he was sharing with him all the things we had coming up this year. mo going back to work, pat getting to spend more time with ewan, our move to memphis, ewan's rolling & sitting & crawling & talking. it is hard for me to believe that a year ago we had great hopes that in 2008 our lives would be blessed with a baby but we were not certain. and now we know that in 2009 we will get to share so many milestones as a new family.
