the opportunity to have snacks & not meals, to eat lighter & a little more care free was one of the reasons we were so anxious to get into the house & out of the hotel.
look how happy E is with his first meal is the new house!

nothing says tasty like "humma" on a box on the floor.
well just hours later, a lesson was learned by this travel weary mama. a toddler floor picnic is NO picnic!
during our dinner of salads & celebratory beverages (beer for me, Mexican coke for pat & "wawa" for E)... not only were all of my nuts picked out of my salad (because as everyone knows, mama's nuts are much tastier than the ones I have been assigned) but in a blink of an eye, my celebratory beverage was picked up an disseminated all over the kitchen floor. thrilled our little one ran for his new mop - see post below. well, needless to say E did not get to mop the mess, instead I took to cleaning up the spill that made our new house smell like a frat house & E headed to time out.
so the next day we made a very special purchase. at the bellingham restore (the habitat for humanity thrift store) was a sweet old red table & a pair of chairs - just ewan's size - for just $25!

pat was a little skeptical because they are not in the greatest condition. but E loves it. he sits with such pride & independence at his little table.

& most of all... he sits still. $25 for a little sanity - now that's a bargain!!!!
