mother's day

after a whirlwind weekend getaway to the Olympic Peninsula, i realize i am entirely to weary to be articulate. but wanted to take a moment to acknowledge the day - because it feels like an important one.

today was mother's day...


* today was my 3rd mother's day. thanks to an incredible, inquisitive , sometimes challenging but mostly awe-inspiring boy.
* today was a monumental day for my own mom - as she graduated from seminary - a feat that took diligence & gusto. I am so proud of her.
* today, I am the mom I am because of the man I chose to be the papa to my little ones.
* today, I celebrated the day with my boy & his papa. we enjoyed the ocean, the sand, the trees, the mountains & even the sun - all the while knowing that our three has already become four.
* today was a gift.
