schools out!

today was the last day of my conference - woo hoo! in all honesty i found the lectures pretty informative & the whole process was minimally invasive on our beach-going fun. but I am excited to have a few days of pure vacation.

my boys spent another morning on the beach - they are getting quite creative with their sand creations.

behold the "playground" complete with slide & stairs.

while observing & participating in the afternoon construction efforts, I learned that the foreman has very particular ideas, which are always evolving - pat is a patient saint!

to celebrate the beginning of class-free vacation we decided to go out for a nice sunset adjacent dinner. we went to hanu in lahaina. our table/view was spectacular, our food was tasty & our bill was disappointedly overpriced.

this boy insists on waking too early, playing exquisitely hard & then falling sound asleep every evening at 5pm.

turtle-spotting - not sure they were looking at the same turtle ;)

only a pregnant woman would think this is an acceptable dessert on a bathing suit-centric vacation (it had macadamia nut ice cream - yum)

Aloha!

tomorrow we embark on a grand adventure. we are heading to the top of the volcano to see the sunrise. we will have to head out at 3:30AM & the low temp on top of the mountain is supposed to be 36 degrees. hats & mitts are packed, scones made, & now it is time to head to bed!
