we returned to leoda's sandwich & pie shop - a new little sandwich shop participating in the Maui local food movement. the food is delicious & fresh but the pie is the reason we returned for a second visit. they make a yummy "handheld" with a crust that tastes more like a malasada (the traditional Hawaiian donut) then the flaky pie crust to which we are accustomed.

leoda's is conveniently located next to a smoothie cart & fruit stand. no one loves a smoothie more then my boy! but seems he loves whatever flavor I choose the best.
we then headed south to the beach. our boy does not use the beach for lounging. he buzzes about chatting, playing & creating! there was copious volcano building, scenarios created & waves enjoyed.
