pink rick!

this weekend was pat's triathlon.  i have mentioned this upcoming event a couple of times in my previous posts.  i am always amazed by pat, but over the past several months i have been in awe.  his ability to juggle childrearing, his culinary pursuits, my pitiful overworked/often sick pregnant self & to add to that training for a triathlon is nothing but admirable.  he has shown such poise & determination.

the weather & my health were a bit uncertain - so i was worried E & i would not make it to the race.  but after an exciting taxi ride, we made it to the race site in time to wish pat well wishes in person.  just as he approaches everything in life, pat did an amazing job while staying humble & kind!  amazing!

unfortunately i did not get many photos - but check out the bellingham herald.  pat is featured in photos #41 & #63 (as is my bump ;) )

i think with a new house & new babe it is unlikely that pat will race again this summer.  but it was really wonderful to watch in him in this journey as he made his way back to racing after an 8 year hiatus.  i am determined that our little family will continue to make time for papa to spend time on his bicycle this summer - i have always said the man is more at ease on two wheels then on two feet - and who can resist all that spandex!
