last week, in a flurry of activity, we decided to buy a house.  i believe that house hunting is pat's form of nesting.  we have looked at several "fixer-uppers" & partially renovated homes in our favorite neighborhoods in bellingham over the past couple of months.  none of which were compelling enough to take the leap.

well that all changed last week when we caught a glimpse of a 106 year old four-square home in a lovely neighborhood.  after two looks through the home, we found ourselves sitting at a table scripting an offer.  the home has been lived in for the past 60 years by the same woman.  The last cosmetic upgrades to the home were a 1950s remodel of the kitchen & upstairs bathroom.  Otherwise the 100 year old charm, floors and molding are still intact.

Today was inspection day - so we decided to make it a family affair.

Now, anyone & everyone would be right to question our sanity at this point.  We have a busy three year old, a babe due any day & we bought a "fixer-upper".  It is true, we are nutty.  We are really excited about the home & the good news is that there were no unexpected surprises on the inspection.  So if anyone has any hidden home improvements skills - now is the time to step forward!
