day #2 - settling in

today we settled into the aloha pace of life. started our day with some amazing beach play @ lydgate beach park. the park had two lovely swim areas that were protected by lava rock walls. we got the undulations of the waves but none of the force - good thing since the waves can be wild in the winter.

E loved the water today. even with shivering blue lips & hands he would ask for "more wayer pweas, ewie wuvs whimming". luckily we were able to lure the little ice cube away from the beach to play in an amazing playground full of tree forts.

we had an exceptionally mellow afternoon. it was becoming increasingly obvious that after 3 days of travel, little satsuma was in need of a real nap! E napped, pat napped, I did a little yoga & then sat on the lanai & knit while sipping on a glass of wine - how absolutely decadent!!!

we finished the day with a nice dinner out & a quick stop for local-made ice cream - not too shabby!
